I know the heart of many of you out there is to help the world’s people and organizations. That’s a beautiful level of service that first starts with you and your families life and lifestyle. In learning from amazing leaders like Ms. Laurie Rubidge and personal experience, I have complete faith that anyone can move forward in their lives to leave the world a better place. There are steps and key insights to follow and we are going to move forward in that direction today!
Key Fundamentals for the Climb to the TOP:
We get paid for bringing value to the marketplace (the people). The value we bring will be based on the product or service and what we become.
The key to these two points is that we can only control ourselves not the companies product or service. I’ve often been taught that formal education will get you a job but self education will bring you abundance. In order to learn, we need to study the fundamentals of the system at hand. The great news is that there is a small list of 6 or 7 or less key areas within your system to grow forward. The list is nothing new, they’ve been established for years.
I want you to stop reading and jot down the top 3 key areas in the system you are currently in that are fundamental in you going to the next level. For instance, increased numbers, build more rapport, create higher expectations, etc. If you are unsure of those key areas ask someone who is much further down the path you are on for the key areas that helped them reach that level of success.
Your income is primarily determined by your philosophy around personal ownership for you and your career and the mindset of always being a work in progress. A person’s earnings could start at around $8 per hour and the ladder could go up to around 32 million or higher for one years work. The disparity often comes in how much value is brought in from our work. A portion of the money brought in will go to the individual based on production. Little production would give little return to the person and a lot of production would mean a large return. The income earned is more the fruit of the production. To earn more we have to produce more.
Lets say you are at the beginning and starting at the bottom. How will you move from $8 per hour to $9 per hour?
1. Wait for the government to change the minimum wage? (making us an innocent bystander)
2. Wait for the company to pay you $9 per hour. How long will that take? (making us an innocent bystander)
3. Go on strike and demand it. That strategy is being used by some around the country but often it doesn’t help as much as the workers would like. You can’t use that idea to get rich. (does not sound fun!)
4. Performance and productivity. Will you work hard, come early, stay late, and produce more than everyone else? Will you perform so well that the company will be eager to pay you $9/hour? (the truth)
If we think in these terms the difference is dramatic.
Many of you are thinking…”how can I get excited about $9/per hour? I am reading this because I want to go to the NEXT LEVEL!” Or….”I don’t need to only be making 30k per year I need to be making 100k!”
An important key can be found in the bible.
Luke 16:10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
If we won’t get down and dirty handling the little things to grow forward from where we are now we are missing it. Everyone at the top of their field started at the bottom or not even knowing the field existed! As we get to work we stop thinking about how sorry we feel for ourselves and think about how we can serve better and produce more.
That is a simple yet key philosophy of wealth. Find a way to serve as many people as possible. It always starts with growing ourselves to then serving one, then two, then three on up. What can I give? Giving starts the receiving process. What can you give to your customers or team that you are working with? Help enough people get what they want and you can have everything that you want.
You can climb as high as you wish or want. How much property can you own? How much money can you earn? How many people can you help? We need to understand that it’s simple, not complex. Many people have decided that it’s out of their personal control and are making it more difficult. Some countries have less than $200 a year annual income. That’s hard! Others are in a more difficult situation and would change spots with our current lifestyle if they could. We should be thankful!
In closing, the simple fundamentals to the climb are to study how we can improve ourselves, to practice serving those around us with an incremental ever evolving passion, and to teach others so that we pass on what we’ve been given.
